Worship Ministry Instructors

  Zach Neese
Zach Neese is a Worship Pastor at Gateway Church where he oversees all areas of worship education including discipleship and worship training classes. Zach believes there is a difference between "leading worship" and pastoring people in the presence of God, and his leadership reflects his passion for helping people develop vibrant, transformational relationships with Jesus. Zach is a gifted teacher and writes much of the church worship curriculum. He also trains and advises worship leaders and churches around the world. Before coming to Gateway, Zach taught, worked with emotionally disabled young people, served as a youth and worship pastor in several congregations, and directed the Christ For the Nations Institute School of Worship and Technical Arts where he trained worship ministers from over 50 countries. He is a seasoned songwriter of many popular songs including "The More I Seek You," "Alabaster Jar," "Love Has Done it,"and "Faithful God".
  Michael Bethany
Singer, Songwriter, Producer and National Recording Artist Michael Bethany has collaborated with musical greats such as Fred Hammond, Marvin Sapp, Tamela Mann, Kirk Franklin and many more. He is a Stellar Nominated songwriter and two-time BMI Christian Song Award recipient for Fred Hammond’s “They that Wait,” and “Here in Our Praise”. Michael’s greatest passion is resourcing the local church through creating experiences that activate an “Overflow of Intimacy” with God. He currently serves as a Pastor of Worship at Gateway Church in Southlake, TX where he resides with his wife and two sons.
   Dr. Sion Alford
Dr. Sion Alford serves as a Campus Pastor at Gateway Church’s Justin Campus. Sion has over 30 years of worship leadership experience and served at Gateway Church as an Executive Worship Pastor for 10 years overseeing a staff of over 15 worship leaders. As a worship leader, musician, teacher, author, songwriter, administrator and pastor, Sion offers a unique perspective to worship pastors and leaders through his informative and practical teaching. Sion’s recent book, “Divine Detours,” has been met with phenomenal response as Sion has traveled around the world ministering to congregations and church leadership who desire an intimacy with God that goes beyond the music to a place of continual relationship with the Father. Sion is passionately in love with his best friend and wife of 29 years, Shannon, and their full quiver of eight children.
  Brandon Marx
With over 15 years of experience in the production industry from live production to commercial and corporate video, Brandon Marx has used his technical and relational expertise to develop people and create experiences that bring hope and transform lives. At Gateway Church, Brandon trains technical crew and equips campuses, maintaining a consistent live production brand across all 8+ campuses. Brandon is also an adjunct faculty member at The Kings University.
  Jill Brewer
Jill Brewer is the Associate Director of Worship Campus Relations at Gateway Church, where she oversees all of the campus worship coaching for those training to be on a Gateway Worship platform. She has been a vocal coach for 30 years, and has spent the last 10 years focusing on the Pop-Vocal Technique, which is what is used in our modern day worship settings. Jill also music directs the musicals put on by Gateway Performing Arts. It is such a joy for her to help vocalists reach their full vocal potential.
  Dr. Andrew Nicolette
Dr. Nicolette is the Assistant Professor of Music and Worship Studies at The King's University. He loves all things Music. He is a musician, songwriter, and composer and is passionate about equipping and empowering students to serve the local body of Christ using their gifts and talents.
